IoT+ Network

Visual Brand Identity For The IoT+ Network

Born out of the German Digital Hub Initiative (de:hub), IoT+ Network connects small-to-medium-sized IoT companies with corporate enterprises and innovation partners ranging from science institutions to technology start-ups. The organization's core objective is to create a space and events where an exchange of knowledge, ideas, and best practices can occur between its members.

Attract New Members & Establish a Brand Identity

The Situation

Due to its newness, the IoT Network lacked a visual brand identity that was to be used to attract new members and establish a brand presence in the German market. Therefore, their initial needs focused on finding a partner who could develop an ownable and unique visual brand identity and associated creative elements through discovery and specialized skills.

Working alongside the creative team, we were able to distill client business and strategy needs into an ownable brand and creative expression. The desired solution would provide a fresh and edgy visual identity representing the network and a multi-channel brand activation approach to include offline and online channels.

The Solution

S44 kicked off the engagement with enthusiasm and creative inspiration by researching the IoT+ Network and its members. As the team parlayed research insights into creative planning, they focused on visually representing four core points: innovation, digitalization, tech orientation, and the nature of the actual network.

We created a visual design system to enrich the client's corporate identity with the brand identity established. On top of establishing logo concepts, we developed brand guidelines that included typography and definitions and created mock-ups for additional collateral such as:

  • Website
  • Social media
  • Digital ad units
  • Infographics
  • And more!

The Results

The client has applied our work across channels and developing a digital portal that serves as the core destination for IoT Network members. The portal establishes the Network as an important entity in the category and its connection to the German de:hub Initiative and its mission. The network is a community and fosters collaboration among science organizations, students, and other public entities.
