What are your credentials and past experience for working in your position?
In the last 10 years, I’ve become accustomed to being the one that has to start something new and build up the work from scratch. It’s always tricky in the beginning because part of the task is to establish awareness and trust.
I’ve spent my working life fulfilling various roles in the telecommunications, automotive, and mobility industries. More recently, I’ve begun working in the sustainability and energy sectors too.
I’ve developed a passion and experience within digitalization within all of my roles. I’m working on the largest possible network because I also enjoy being involved with innovation.
However, innovation has an expiration date, and before you know it, that new idea is seen as old-fashioned and ordinary. With that in mind, I feel fortunate to work for a company like S44 because it allows me to develop my creativity, and the work we’re currently doing will benefit the future in so many ways.
What do you like about working at S44?
Above all, this relentless search for the most innovative project fascinates me so much, which is anchored in the company culture. We also communicate this point very strongly, and rightly so.
Another point is the strong customer orientation, i.e. wanting to deliver the best solution to every customer. But, again, I know the market very well and believe that this is very unusual, especially because we don't communicate this issue very much.
What’s your background?
I was born and raised in Austria near Salzburg, and through my education, I became technically skilled and economical. After graduation, I came to Munich, and I gained extensive experience working for the telecommunications, automotive, and mobility industries.
I could never decide on one approach to how I work, gaining experience in management, sales, technical roles, and even marketing. However, I’ve always found that this approach to work has benefited me throughout my career - especially when I’ve been responsible for a product launch.
My children and my wife influence me the most in my private life. My children keep me on my toes, and my wife, as a psychologist and therapist, has to slow me down.
In my private life, I'm also involved with many digital spaces, and I enjoy testing everything new. I also enjoy outdoor sports like running, hiking, skating, or kayaking - although time is quite limited for these. In general, I am very experience-driven and appreciate almost every new experience that comes my way.
What are the values that drive you?
I have solid business ethics that drive my passion for many interests. I’m also a reflective practitioner and always evaluate my work to a high standard. I love learning new things and different perspectives, so I’ve taught myself to practice respectful interactions with other opinions.
“We always overestimate the change that will occur in the next two years and underestimate the change that will occur in the next ten. Don't let yourself be lulled into inaction.” Bill Gates
